NEWS: 8 March 2023, Hamilton, New Zealand:  EarthDiverse to offer Indian Classical Music courses beginning in the second half of 2023: Beginning soon EarthDiverse will launch its Ethnomusicology programme with 3 courses in North Indian Classical (Hindustani) music, including tabla, sitar and North Indian Classical vocals. One-hour classes will take place on Thursday afternoons between 3:30 and 6:00pm each week for 8 weeks each term.  Register your interest now by contacting us via the Contact page accessible through the Menu Bar above. 20 January 2023: EarthDiverse seeks applicants for potential Board Membership

The EarthDiverse Trust invites applications from interested persons to fill the following Trustee positions on the EarthDiverse Board of Trustees:

  • Chairperson
  • Secretary
  • Trustee

The EarthDiverse Trust is a not-for profit Incorporated Charitable Trust based in Kirikiriroa Hamilton that provides diversity education and a platform for teaching about all forms of diversity. This includes, but is not limited to, cultural, environmental, ethnic, linguistic and religious diversity subjects. EarthDiverse delivers programmes to suit the needs of social sectors from children to senior citizens. The Trust also collaborates with other NGOs on projects that align with our goals. EarthDiverse is registered with the New Zealand Charities Services (Registration Number CC58212), the the New Zealand Companies Office (Certificate of Incorporation Number 50085009) and has a New Zealand Business Number (9429050099306).

The EarthDiverse Trust’s mission is to grow diversity knowledge in local, regional, and ultimately, national levels in a non-competitive assessment-free environment that encourages discussion and the exchange of ideas and perspectives. From this diversity knowledge comes awareness and empathy, and from empathy comes positive social and environmental change.

Successful candidates, through their CVs & Expressions of Interest, should be able to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics. Additional qualities may be expressed.

  • Personal integrity and an understanding of maintaining confidentiality 
  • Passion for social change
  • Believes that education is a critical tool to break down barriers of ignorance
  • Understands and is committed to the goals of Te Tiriti o Waitangi 
  • Is committed to working towards the principles of good citizenship
  • Is a strategic thinker
  • Understands the roles of governance
  • Is able to cooperate and dialogue with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Has sound judgement in decision making

Interested persons should submit their relevant Curriculum Vitae together with a cover letter describing your interest, what you can offer, and the reasons why you should be appointed to the EarthDiverse Trust Board. These should be submitted as PDF files and emailed to: <[email protected]>.

The EarthDiverse Trust is keen to strengthen and solidify a diverse and representative Board of Trustees. We are open to applicants of all genders, abilities, ethnicities and religions. Applicants must be either New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents. The New Zealand Trusts Acts (2019) sets the legal minimum age of 18 for Trustees.
